Christmas holidays~ Got an extra week, which means I'll have to work a week longer into summer, but oh well... I can use my days off better during this time of year
I've got a lot to do, for Elf Fantasy Fair Haarzuilens 2012 and Tsunacon 2012 (not in that order
)
For EFF I'm working on a cosplay of Ada Vessalius from Pandora Hearts. It's not a dress you see a lot of cosplays of. As a matter of fact, up until now I have failed to find a single one of it. Then again, it is a dress she wears only in the manga and she only appears with it in very few panels. So probably no-one will ever recognise it as Ada Vessalius without me telling them, but I will still call it that ^^
I've been working it for many sundays already. The blouse just may be to most complicated part of the dress, and also the least visible one. It
will be used in other photoshoots, I assure you
The underskirt is a lot more sophisticated than the underskirt of my Ondine dress as well. It can be worn as a skirt separately (where the Ondine-underskirt needs to be covered at the top part at all times). It has about 17 meters of ribbon on it, and that's just one layer of frills at the bottom and one layer at the top! And somehow I still haven't learned my lesson because I would do it again
(I love them frills. I
love them!)
I have a little cape with frills and frills and frill and the cutest little piece of fabric
I wear the whole thing with a corset which has been abused many times already (with my White Ivy costume and my Dryad costume) and a hoop skirt which has to be modified a little to wear it underneath a corset (it was bought for my Ondine dress, which is without corset. It is fastened at my middle. But the black and green corset I wear with the Ada dress is a long line corset reaching over my hips, resulting in a very interesting shape at crotch-height
)
And last but not least the outer skirt! That part is not finished yet, but it's almost there. It is a bit troublesome, but it's worth it
All there's left to do is making buttons on the skirt, making a giant bow, plus another bow, styiling my wig and murdering some gloves
My costume for Tsunacon is still a bit of a question. I want to do a cowgirl version of Female America (Hetalia), but it will be a bit chilly
The costume is summer clothing with high boots and a winterjacket... And it shows quite some more skin than I would usually go around with. It's a bit hypocrite of me to be shy of that, because I
did walk around in an even less covering Arabian outfit on a rainy day during Castlefest, but yeah...
Either way I have gathered all parts (no sewing in this one). All I need to do is attach the furry collar to the jacket and if I decide to use the hat I will need to fill it up a little 'cause it's too big.
Still not sure, but I don't really have anything else to wear
My Poland uniform is no longer possible because I changed my haircut last year
Of course I have some inspiration ready for future costumes. I want to make the Childrensday version of France (Hetalia), but with my own twist (which might become mostly
e-Sidera's twist, but whatever
). I have sketches of a Magpiedress, a Asian/Western crossover princess, a steampunk-without-the-steam outfit and now with my brother leaving for South-Korea for half a year I suddenly feel the strong desire to make a Hanbok as well
The Hanbok just might be made during my own intership, when I will have little to no internet access. I won't have a sewing machine, but it will be ideal for doing some embroidery
Then
maybe a female Canada version (I have the perfect wig for it since my birthday) and I still hope to one day make the wings for my Arabian outfit (although I kind of used the fabric in my Ondine dress
)
So far for my current progress and ideas
(quick snapshots, sorry for the quality
)
