Do you have a pattern for the robe? Because capes are so very easy! Try using this pattern [link], and instead of making it short just add all the length you need to make the cape reach the floor (When I used this pattern I didn't cut the cape part as three pieces like the pattern tells you to, but as one big piece. You can cut out a half circle of fabric with a radius of the length you need it to reach the ground)
