They have opened the spring, and now I am here, and you must die.~Undine (in Undine by Friedrich de la Motte Fouque)
The costume I made for Elf Fantasy Fair Haarzuilens 2011 was based on the folklore of the Ondine. The Ondine are waternymphs, living in forest waters. They are immortal, being nymphs, but if they marry they get a soul. A soul means they become mortal, and they will age and die.
This makes marriage both the best thing that could ever happen to you (you found someone you love so dearly and you can spend the rest of your life with him), but also the most horrible thing (it forbodes your death).
The costume is based to look like a simple wedding dress. The veil and accents on the dress are blue to refer to the waternymph-part of the story. The bouquet is arranged to be the bridal bouquet and the funeral bouquet at the same time.

DVdreamyeyesFor the price that I will pay
is far too high,
but maybe it is
maybe it is worth it.
For who will know that
if they haven't paid?~
